5 min

What to do

  1. Read the sentence frame.
  2. Choose a number of minutes.
  3. Choose how many days each week.
  4. Write one complete sentence in the response box.

Why this matters

IELTS Writing starts with clear sentences. One clear sentence is better than many unclear ideas.

Concept explanation

A complete sentence gives one full idea. It starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.

Worked example

Sentence frame: I will practise English for ___ minutes on ___ days each week.

Sample answer: I will practise English for 20 minutes on five days each week.

Why it works: The sentence gives a time and a number of days.

Task

Write one sentence in the response box.

I will practise English for ___ minutes on ___ days each week.

Keep it short. One sentence is enough.
