Read 18 of 20

What to do⏱ 5–10 min

Answer abstract questions with a definition + example.

Steps

 1. Read the explanation and the weak vs improved example.
 2. Complete the short task in your own words (3–5 sentences unless stated).

Abstract → concrete

⏱ ~7 min · Speaking

Question: “What is success?”

Weak: “Success is important for everyone in society nowadays…”

Improved: “I’d define success as reaching a goal you set — for example, qualifying as a nurse if that was your aim.”

Reflection
 • Answer in 3–4 sentences: “What makes a good neighbour?” Start with “I’d define…” or “For me…” + one example.

Self-check

 • You addressed only this one problem.
 • You produced a new example, not copied text.

Common mistakes to avoid

 • Opening with a memorised essay introduction.
 • Never giving an example in Part 3.
