Intervention: Part 2 story with beginning–middle–end

5–10 min
Read 16 of 20

What to do⏱ 5–10 min

Objective

Order your long turn so the listener can follow the story.

Steps

 1. Read the explanation and the weak vs improved example.
 2. Complete the short task in your own words (3–5 sentences unless stated).

Sequence your long turn

⏱ ~8 min · Speaking

Cue: “Describe a time you helped someone.”

Weak: Random details in random order.

Improved: “I’ll describe when / where / what happened / how I felt afterwards.”

Reflection
 • Speak for 60–90 seconds: describe a time you were late. Say explicitly: when, where, what, end feeling.

Self-check

 • You addressed only this one problem.
 • You produced a new example, not copied text.

Common mistakes to avoid

 • Lists with no time order.
 • No closing line before the examiner stops you.
